York Brewery opened in May 1996 in York, England using the disused brewery equipment of Lions Original Brews from Burnley and was the first brewery within the city walls for 40 years. In 2007, it expanded so to increase its output by 50 per cent. In December 2008 York Brewery was taken over by Mitchell's Hotels and Inns of Lancaster which plans to expand its business and create jobs. The brewery is located centrally within York on Toft Green, and offers tours of its facilities to the public. Whilst the frontage of the brewery on Toft Green is relatively modern the rear of the building, overlooking Micklegate, is significantly older and was the birth place of Joseph Hansom the inventor of the Hansom Cab. The building was also where the furniture company Whitby Oliver was started in 1897, the company is still the landlord to this day and the company logo can still be seen on the side of the top floor offices above Brigantes pub on Micklegate. == Core Beers == As of summer 2015 York Brewery produces 5 core beers that are available all year round. Guzzler 3.6% A beautifully balanced, light gold coloured beer with dominant hop flavours and pale malt character. Guzzler is an easy drinking, crisp & refreshing session ale brewed with Challenger and Celeia hops that bring about a light citrus palate with overtones of Grapefruit. All Seeing Rye 3.9% All Seeing Rye is a rich amber coloured beer with a sumptuous malt palate. The addition of malted rye to the grain bill adds some subtle spicy notes and a refreshing dryness to the aftertaste. In order for the malt character to shine thorough the hop palate has been kept simple with Goldings hops filling out the high spicy notes. Yorkshire Terrier 4.2% Our original brew, Yorkshire Terrier is a multi-award winning single hop premium golden ale. Using only the flavours of UK grown Challenger hops and a dash of Crystal malt, expect a refreshing taste, where fruit and hops dominate the flavour and aroma with a clean, bitter finish. Otherside IPA 4.5% Otherside IPA is a Maris Otter pacific pale ale packed full of antipodean promise. We’ve selected four of the best New Zealand grown hops to provide a feast for the taste buds. Expect a host of tropical fruit notes against a background of citrus and pine from dry hopping with Motueka. Centurion's Ghost 5.4% Centurion's Ghost is a multi gold medal award winning dark ruby ale. It has a smooth roasted malt palate, and a combination of Challenger, Fuggle and Bramling Cross hops give it a subtle bitterness with autumn fruit flavours that linger on the aftertaste. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「York Brewery」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
